2013 Spring Workshops for K-12 Educators
Using Primary Source Documents in the Classroom
Would you like ideas for incorporating primary sources into your middle and high school classrooms? Lois Hamill and Anne Ryckbost, from the Eva G. Farris Special Collections and Schlachter Archives, will lead participants through exercises that explore how to use primary sources effectively in accordance with new standards in history/social studies and English/language arts. The workshop will focus on using primary source material from the Civil War era and additional related secondary sources. Participants will have the opportunity to view original Civil War era documents.
